1892
The company "Chemische Fabrik Nürnberg, Dr. John &
Breitschopp" was founded by Mr. Breitschopp, the great grandfather
of the present company owner, and Mr. Dr. John in Nuremberg. The
company started by producing various inks and glues.
1900
Registration of the trade mark "NORIS" for stamp pad inks.
1901
Development of the first clothmarking ink resistant to boiling and
cleaning.
1902
Initiation of exports within Europe and to Eastern Europe.
1906
Fair in Nuremberg:
Gold Medal awarded for product quality.
Fair in Paris: Grand Prix for clothmarking ink.
1902-1943
Expansion of export sales internationally.
1943
Destruction of the whole factory in Nuremberg due to bombing during
World War II.
1948
New production after the war: Shoecreams, candles, glues, inks and
stamp pad inks. Within the following years specialisation of production
of stamp pad inks, thus coming back to the original production goal
in founding the company.
1948
The factory was newly rebuilt by Mrs. Lore Zeitler and Mr. Otto
Zeitler, the parents of Mr.
Lothar Zeitler.
1970
Locating of the company to newly erected premises
1987
Takeover of the company by Mr.
Lothar Zeitler.
1991
Construction of an additional building was needed by extension of
production facilities.
1993
Change of company name to NORIS-COLOR GMBH.
1994
Launch of the first computer information system for stamp pad inks.
This system gives information about: Stamp pad inks and possibilities
of their usage, as well as the answers to the questions: Which stamp
or which stamp pad ink for which purpose?
1995
License agreement with Bazarnik Company in Poland.
1996
Noris wins the Gold Medal for the specialty stamp pad ink #191 on
the International Trade Fair in Warsaw
1997
Noris create their Homepage on the Internet :
http://www.noris-color.de
1998
License agreement with Performance Coatings Company in the USA.
1999
Extension of the homepage:
German - English - French and Spanish versions.
Now it is possible to give orders directly over the Internet via
E-Mail.
2001
Due to increasing demand of Noris inks world wide a new compound
of approx. 6000 m2 has been bought. The new building of Noris II
consists of new laboratory, production of alcoholbased inks and
storage room.
General Information:
Production of ca. 300 tons of different inks per year. Direct and
in-direct export to all continents of the world. Direct export to
127 countries.
