General informations about stamp pad inks
1. Types of stamp pad inks
a) Water based stamp pad inks
These are compositions of dyes, pigments, glycerines, glycols, binding
agents, water, as well as small quantities of alcohol. They are
mainly set up for porous surfaces, e. g. paper.
These inks are mainly used for handstamps and self-inkers. Rubber
and Polymer material can be used for the stamp plates.
b) Oil based stamp pad inks
These are compositions of dyes, pigments, binding agents and oils.
They are mainly used for porous surfaces like paper etc.
Used with pagination machines as well as for handstamps with metal-
or oilfast rubber plates.
c) Alcohol based stamp pad inks
In this case dyes, pigments and binding agents are mixed with alcohols.
All non-porous surfaces can be marked with these inks.
These inks are used for handstamps with rubber-or alcoholfast polymerplates.
2. Basic information
a) Storage
Stamp pad inks should be used as last as possible. At appropriate
storage (that means room temperature as well as dark storage room)
the durability of inks can be determined as follows:
- water based inks: Minimum 5 years
- oil based inks: Minimum 2 years
- alcohol based inks: Minimum 1 year

or dealer has to label all inks correctly. These must not be removed
in any case.

about:
- Identification of substance
- Composition / Data on components
- Hazards identification
- First Aid measures
- Fire fighting measures
- Accidental release measures
- Handling and storage
- Exposure controls and personal protection
- Physical and chemical properties
- Stability and Reactivity
- Toxicological information
- Ecological information
- Disposal considerations

- Regulatory information
- Other information
